WATERVILLE, Maine — State and local police are investigating a bomb threat emailed to Colby College, school officials said Monday morning.

The email apparently stated that a bomb was placed in a Colby library.

"State police have initiated an investigation into the identity of the individual who sent the anonymous email," school officials said in a 10 a.m. update.

The school evacuated two buildings, Miller and Bixler, and canceled all classes scheduled to be held in those buildings. Faculty and staff with offices in those buildings were directed to work remotely for the rest of the day.
