The Hillshire Brands Company is recalling approximately 58 million pounds of corn dog and sausage on a stick products after receiving injury reports from consumers.
Brands Jimmy Dean and State Fair, which are owned by the company, are part of the recall.
Products packaged between March 17 and Sept. 26, bearing establishments numbers EST-582 or P-894 may be "contaminated with extraneous material, specifically pieces of wood embedded in the batter," the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Sept. 27.
