A man ran into a pub after reportedly having his hand cut off while at an 18th birthday party nearby.
Police were called to the The Stanley Arms on Roby Road in Huyton, Merseyside at around 12.20am on Saturday to reports of a serious injury.
Neighbours say the man was attacked at the house party in Colin Close, before running to the nearby pub, which was about to close.
A witness said the victim’s hand was ‘clean off’ when he came inside.
There had been an 18th birthday banner on the front door of house where the party was, local residents said.
After the incident dry blood could be seen on the door frame and door stepas police worked in the area.
Merseyside Police confirmed a man had suffered a ‘potentially life-changing’ injury, while a girl, 17, suffered a minor hand injury.
