YOUNGSTOWN First responders, including police detectives and the coroner, are on the scene of what was reported to be an accident involving a pedestrian on Youngstown's South Side.

Dispatchers were first told that someone was trapped after a crash on Loveland Road near Pointview Avenue at around 10:30 a.m. Monday.

When firefighters arrived, they reported that no one was trapped, but it appeared that a person had been struck by a car and that the victim was seriously injured.

The 21 News crew could see what appeared to be a body covered with a sheet in a nearby front yard.

Loveland Road was shut down in the area, and police scene tape had been stretched across the road.

The Mahoning County Coroner was dispatched to the scene shortly after 11 a.m.
