KENT COUNTY, MI - The public is invited to celebrate 100 years of memories, nature and community connection at a West Michigan park this month.

Townsend Park’s Centennial Celebration takes place Tuesday, Sept. 30 from 1 to 8 p.m. at 8280 6 Mile Rd. NE in Cannonsburg.

Since its founding in 1925, Townsend Park has welcomed Kent County families, organizations and visitors for picnics, reunions, outdoor breakfasts, and open-air church services.

“This centennial is a chance to reflect on 100 years of shared history, honor the vision of Warren R. Townsend who helped establish the park system, and enjoy the natural beauty and recreational opportunities the park continues to offer,” said the Kent County Parks Department.
