West Lothian’s newest primary school has been officially opened. ‌

A special ceremony involving the school and invited guests took place at Hawkhill Primary in Winchburgh. ‌

Hawkhill pupils were the stars of the show, performing two songs for the appreciative audience. Head of Education Lisamaria Purdie welcomed all the invited guests, with headteacher Kirsten Patience setting out her vision for the new school as a safe and happy environment where children can achieve their full potential. ‌

Councillor Tony Boyle, who unveiled a plaque to declare the new school open, said: “It was a huge honour to be invited to open the fantastic new Hawkhill Primary. The state-of-the-art facility will be the ideal venue for learning for many Winchburgh children now and in years to com
