Garrett Crochet was dominant in his first season with the Red Sox , compiling an 18-5 record, 2.59 ERA, 1.028 WHIP and an MLB-leading 255 strikeouts.

The year’s performances earned the left-hander the start in Game 1 of the American League Wild Card series against the New York Yankees on Tuesday.

Crochet made four postseason appearances out of the bullpen while with the Chicago White Sox in 2020 and 2021, but Tuesday will mark his first start.
