AUSTIN, Texas (KCTV) - More than 30 years after four teenage girls were found shot to death in a Texas yogurt shop, their killer has been identified through DNA evidence.

According to CBS News, Eliza Thomas, 17, Amy Ayers, 13, Jennifer Harbison, 17, and Sarah Harbison, 15, were found dead in an I Can’t Believe It’s Yogurt shop on Dec. 6, 1991.

They had been gagged, tied up and shot in the head, then the store was set on fire. This destroyed much of the evidence that prosecutors had to work with.

The case went cold until 1999, when the Austin Police Department created a task force to solve it. Four men were arrested and charged, but a lack of evidence weakened their cases.
