Des Moines school officials called a special meeting for Monday afternoon after learning that the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners has revoked Roberts’ education license .

School board members are expected to put Roberts on unpaid leave. Roberts' original contract from 2023 and his current contract from July 1, 2025, which includes an annual salary of $286,000, state that he must hold a state-issued license.

His current contract goes through June 30, 2028.
