NORMAL, Ill. (WMBD) -- Star gazers are welcome to come to a free event Saturday to learn more about the nearest celestial body to the Earth -- the Moon.
The Illinois State University Planetarium, ISU Astronomy Club, and Twin City Amateur Astronomers are hosing International Observe the Moon Night event this weekend.
The free event will be at the planetarium and will feature hands-on activities to celebrate the moon at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. An astronomical observing session, using large telescopes, will follow at 8 p.m., weather permitting.
