ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. (WBTW) -- Two men are facing charges after Red Springs police said they shot multiple times into the air Friday night outside the Truth Bar and Lounge on Main Street.

Stephen Chavis and Quah-May Haywood were arrested after officers saw one of the men "discharging a rifle into the air and shooting multiple times" before getting into a vehicle and leaving the area, police said in a Facebook post. Officers were parked outside the bar at 114 S. Main St at the time of the shooting to provide security as the bar was closing for the night.

Chavis, the driver, and Haywood were taken into custody after officers followed the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, police said. A search of the vehicle turned up a loaded AK-47 in the front seat of the vehicle and two loaded handgu
