EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Michigan State football head coach Jonathan Smith held his weekly press conference on Monday, previewing Saturday’s matchup vs. Nebraska and recapping the Spartans’ loss to USC two weeks ago.

Michigan State is 3-1 (0-1 Big Ten) and coming off a bye week after opening Big Ten play with a 45-31 loss to USC on the road.

Nebraska is 3-1 (0-1 Big Ten) and is also coming off a bye week after a loss in its conference opener vs. No. 20 Michigan, 30-27.

Nebraska opened as 10-point favorites over MSU, the Spartans’ second game in a row as a double-digit underdog on the road.

Kickoff in front of the 407th consecutive sellout crowd at Nebraska’s Memorial Stadium is set for 4 p.m. on Oct. 4.
