MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Abdisatar Ahmed Hassan, 23, has pleaded guilty to attempting to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization, as announced by the U.S. Attorney's Office.

"There is no margin for error when it comes to terrorism," said Acting U.S. Attorney Joseph H. Thompson. "We will not let Minnesota become a safe haven for terrorists."

Hassan's activities were uncovered following a tip to the FBI about a social media user supporting Al Shabab and ISIS. Hassan's posts included propaganda videos and praise for ISIS attacks, including a deadly attack in New Orleans on January 1, 2025.
