JACKSON TWP. — Three days before Robert W. Rhodes was scheduled to be released from the State Correctional Institution at Dallas, authorities discovered he was wanted in Camden County, N.J., on allegations he assaulted a law enforcement officer in June.

The Pennsylvania State Police at Wilkes-Barre quickly charged Rhodes, 32, with being a fugitive based on the Camden County warrant preventing his scheduled release on Sept. 20.

Rhodes is scheduled for an extradition hearing before Luzerne County Judge David W. Lupas on Oct. 6.
