Wixom, Commerce Township, Walled Lake and parts of Novi remained under a boil water advisory Monday following a water main break in Novi last week, officials said.

Regional water supplier, the Great Lakes Water Authority, said its crews continue to work to repair the 42-inch water transmission main on 14 Mile Road west of M-5. A break in the main was reported on Thursday .

GLWA officials said workers finished external welding of a new section of pipe on the water main, and internal welding is underway. They also said crews have begun to inspect the new pipe, as well as about 1,200 feet of pipe located west of where the break happened.

Still, the authority said Wixom, Commerce Township, and Walled Lake remain under the boil water advisory due to low water pressure.
