MERCER COUNTY, WV (WVNS) -- A man from Mercer County was sentenced to life in prison with no chance for parole for crimes that included First-Degree Murder.

According to a press release from Mercer County Prosecuting Attorney Brian K. Cochran, 45-year-old Charles Lee Dawson, of Bluefield, was sentenced to the maximum penalties of Life in Prison Without the Possibility of Parole, for his conviction of First-Degree Murder; 30 years in prison for his conviction of Kidnapping; two to ten years in prison for his conviction of Use of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony; one to five years in prison for his conviction of Wanton Endangerment; and one to five years in prison for each of his two convictions for Gross Child Neglect creating a substantial Risk of Death or Serious Bodily Injury
