One person was injured in a house fire in West Hartford on Monday that displaced a family.
Fire crews responded to a home on Elmhurst Circle at 5:08 a.m. on the report of a structure fire and found heavy smoke coming from the front of the single-family, one-story house, according to Neal Sinatro, deputy chief of the West Hartford Fire Department .
Sinatro said crews found that the fire started in a bedroom and launched an attack to put it out while others searched the home. Crews found that the residents had gotten out before firefighters arrived.
One of the residents suffered a minor injury to one of their extremities and declined to go to a hospital after being evaluated at the scene, Sinatro said. No other injuries were reported.
