A plane that crashed Friday at Goheen Field north of Battle Ground had lost control under unknown circumstances before flying into trees west of the runway, according to a preliminary incident report by the Federal Aviation Administration .
The crash, which killed one person, is still being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board.
The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet released the person’s identity and cause and manner of death.
The single-engine plane, a Cessna Skyhawk, is registered to Kenneth Shaffer, 76, of Trout Lake, according to FlightAware, a website that tracks aircraft and flight data .
