CHARLEVOIX, MI – Officials are responding to an unknown “public safety threat” in Northern Michigan.
According to the Charlevoix County Sheriff’s Office, deputies are responding to Charlevoix Estates for an urgent, active situation.
“Please avoid leaving your homes or avoid this area at this time,” a statement said.
Students will not be dropped off at Charlevoix Estates at this time, deputies said. Parents should call Charlevoix Elementary School to arrange pickup.
Charlevoix Estates is a manufactured home community that sits 1.5 miles south of downtown.
