Quit smoking, stay physically active, maintain a healthy weight, and never ignore early symptoms of heart disease, stressing lifestyle changes as key to reducing the growing cardiac burden, health experts said on Monday on World Heart Day at SKIMS Soura.
The event was inaugurated by Director, Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) &EOSG, Prof. Ashraf Ganie in presence of Kashmir’s noted cardiologists and heart disease specialists.
While lauding the exemplary work of the Department of Cardiology, Prof. Ganie said that the department has been a lifeline for underprivileged patients since its inception. He described the department as the “queen of SKIMS” for its pioneering role in advanced cardiac care.
