Lucas Metropolitan Housing’s resigned chief financial officer failed to disclose she had an accounting business on the side, one of the only blemishes on her personnel file.

In April, 2021, Ms. Cole was informed in a counseling memo that she had not completed required forms certifying secondary employment despite owning a tax preparation business for about a year and a half prior.

The business, 24-7 Hearts Consulting LLC, was reported by Ms. Cole as a tax-preparation business with various after-work hours. The disclosure was completed and approved by then-president Joaquin Cintron Vega, who did not indicate on the form that there was a conflict of interest.
