A man riding a scooter was critically injured in Trenton on Sunday after he was dragged underneath a moving car before it drove off, police said.

The 32-year-old Trenton resident was riding his scooter on Oakland Street from Prospect Street toward Mellon Street when he collided with the car traveling in the opposite direction at about 4:15 a.m.

According to police, the scooter rider fell underneath the vehicle while he was attempting to avoid a head-on collision.

The car drove over the man and dragged him a short distance before driving away, authorities said.

Responding officers found the man bleeding from his ears on Oakland Street. He was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where he is listed in stable but critical condition, police said.

He was intubated and suffered
