Stretch of Route 718 in Sharon closed due to sinkhole

SHARON A stretch of Route 718 in Sharon is closed to traffic due to a sinkhole in the area.

Route 718 is closed between Silver Street and Marshall Avenue due to the formation of a sinkhole near Lincoln Street. The road will remain closed until repairs can be made to the utility line beneath the roadway, as well as to the roadway itself.

During the closure, a detour will take drivers down Clark Street, Route 518 and State Street.

No time frame was given for when the road will open again.
