Remember when punk rock was a threat? Back in 1982, the Circle Jerks’ “Letter Bomb” was one of the few punk songs I played that absolutely horrified my parents and made them consider whether I should be allowed to keep the record. My Dad, a conservative Catholic jailguard, overhead me spinning a copy of Wild in the Streets that I’d scored at a Maple Ridge Value Village. Morris’s vocal delivery is perfectly clear, so Dad could make out every word:
