Marietta Elsbergen (Altmeyer Funeral Home)

Marietta Elsbergen, born on December 10th, 1957 passed away peacefully in the morning hours of September 22, 2025.

Born in Patterson, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Anna Marie Haigh and Wallace Haigh.

She met the love of her life, Horst Elsbergen, along the shoreline of Virginia Beach. A true storybook romance, where he proposed to her on the Eiffel Tower. Together for 47 years, they created a family with 2 children, Andrew Elsbergen and Anja Elsbergen-Fillmore.

Marietta was a marvelous wife, mother, Mimi, sister, and friend.

A deeply devoted family woman, her best days were spent with those close to her. She enjoyed watching Lifetime movies with her daughter Anja, concerts with her son Andrew, and plane rides and traveling with her husb
