CANISTEO, N.Y. (WETM) – The Steuben County Department of Public Works has announced a temporary bridge closure that will take place in the Town of Canisteo during the first full week of October.

The closure is expected to take place on Monday, Oct. 7, and Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. During this time, the bridge on County Route 119 over the Canisteo River, which is located between State Route 36 and County Route 128 (Canisteo Center Road), will be closed to all through traffic while crews work to complete structural maintenance work on the bridge.

While the work is taking place, no on-site detour will be provided. Drivers are advised to plan ahead and seek alternate routes for the duration of the project.
