ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) - Any other time, abundant high pressure results in a prolonged period of dry weather across the area. But thanks to Tropical Storm Imelda, tonight will be cloudy and the clouds won't decrease until the storm moves all of the way off shore by Tuesday night.
Once the storm moves out to sea, temperatures will rebound, before the next front that is waiting in the wings to our west comes into the Twin Tiers. With that, temperatures will remain above normal through Tuesday. After Tuesday, much cooler air moves in Wednesday and Thursday bringing with it the potential for some areas of patchy frost Wednesday and Thursday nights, especially in sheltered valleys.
We still have high pressure in control for the next seven days overall and temperatures will stay above average. Us
