CINCINNATI (WXIX) - The Clinton County Emergency Management Agency is planning a safety training for all congregations after multiple attacks on places of worship in recent months.
On Sunday, a plume of black smoke filled rural Michigan skies after a former Marine opened fire in a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints before setting the building on fire.
“This was an evil act of violence. That’s exactly what this was,” Grand Blanc Township Chief of Police William Renye said after the attack.
The incident in Grand Blanc left four people dead and 8 others injured. It came just over a month after a shooter fired through the windows of a church in Minneapolis, killing two children and wounding 17 parishioners.
