SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — More than 7 million people visited the Gulf Islands National Seashore in 2024, spending money in the nearby communities, according to a National Park Service news release.

According to the release, 7.8 million visitors spent $411 million in the areas around the park. Of those visitors, 88 percent were not from the area and the park's campgrounds are among the top three most used in the national park system.
