JEFFERSON PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Jefferson Parish is joining the Disc Golf pro tour in 2026. It will be called the Big Easy Open.

The tournament will be in March at the state's number one disc golf course, Parc Des Familles in Marrero. More than 150 professional players are set to complete.

The tour is backed by Councilwoman Jennifer Van Vrancken, who believes it will boost the Parish's tourism.

"To see those economic development dollars flip into a national disc golf pro tournament, and all the hundreds of players and all the thousands of tourists that will come here, who want to eat our food, experience our culture, see what we have to offer in Jefferson Parish," said Van Vrancken.
