NORFOLK, Va. — The Norfolk School Board once again delayed a vote on a school closure and consolidation plan on Monday.
The almost four-hour meeting ended in a partial consensus, with a few sticky issues left – notably the status of Lindenwood Elementary School.
But board members agreed the public needs to get another chance to look at the plan before they vote. They plan to take a vote on Oct. 15, they said.
“The public will have almost 2 weeks to let us know what their thoughts are,” said Chair Sarah DiCalogero. “We’re not making everybody happy but we’re trying to do what’s in the best interests of the students.”
