MASON CITY, Iowa — Residents of Northern Iowa gathered at the NIACC campus on September 21 for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, raising $54,000 to support the Alzheimer’s Association. Organizers say donations will continue to be accepted until the end of the year at alz.org/walk . Connie and Michael Wentworth led the top fundraising team, Alzheimer’s Caregivers Support Group – Mason City, collecting over $18,000 in honor of Michael Wentworth’s mother and others affected by Alzheimer's. Other notable teams included Sheryl’s Squad, which raised over $12,000, and Hansen Family Hospital, which brought in over $3,000.
