The good doctor was addressing burgeoning greed, aided and abetted by the expansion of the airport, overtaking Aspen in its conversion into Glitter Gulch. Even still, his words may be more apropos today in all but proving his prophecy as evidenced by the dramatic loss of local watering holes where average working folks share meals, camaraderie and hopes.
