Aquarium installer dives into former Subway building on Broad

A storefront that used to sling submarine sandwiches will soon be selling marine habitats.

Kole Tang Aquatics, which provides commercial and residential aquarium installation and service, is aiming to open its first brick-and-mortar location at 7250 W. Broad St. in the coming months.

Owner Kole Elkin said the store was coming in response to customers who have asked for a physical location to visit. The new shop will sell aquariums, lights, filtration systems and more, in addition to coral and fresh and saltwater fish.

“No one wants to walk in and have to order something,” Elkin said. “A lot of my clients have expressed interest in coming in somewhere.”
