Despite pleas, demands and cryptic hints from Mayor Lisa Borowsky, a vocal opponent of the project since she took office, a planned Old Town parking garage is moving ahead.

At a Sept. 18 community meeting, preliminary plans to expand “The Corral” from a two-level parking lot to a four-level garage were unveiled. The parking facility is between First and Second streets along Brown Avenue, in the heart of Old Town.

Asked if she still opposed the project recently, Borowsky answered with a mysterious, “stay tuned.”

Meanwhile, “public engagement” continues on the garage, scheduled to start construction in the summer of 2026.
