GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Imelda strengthens to a hurricane Tuesday morning. It’s already turning to the northeast, moving away from the US.

The latest trend in the data is a positive one, continuing taking the storm out to sea Tuesday. What we are seeing is the system staying south of South Carolina Tuesday and then taking a turn east and heading out to sea without making landfall in the US. This would keep the worst of the storm off-shore.
