PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) - A man is dead after a shooting in the St. Johns neighborhood, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

Just before 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to reports of a person shot in the 6800 block of North Central Street. Officers arrived to the scene and found a man dead. The victim has not yet been identified.

PPB said a person was detained at the scene. Homicide detectives are leading the investigation and will interview the person detained.

North Central Street will be closed between North Gilbert Avenue and North Heppner Avenue when police are on scene.
