In Canada, we take a moment each year on Sept. 30 to reflect on our Indigenous history.
It’s called the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, but is also known as Orange Shirt Day.
In 2021, the federal government created the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation as an annual day to honour residential school survivors, their families and communities affected by the legacy of the former Indian Residential Schools.
