MIAMI (WJW) – A Royal Caribbean cruise is dealing with a norovirus outbreak.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, Royal Caribbean International’s Serenade of the Seas, alerted the CDC about the outbreak on Sept. 28.

According to the alert, the outbreak began when the ship left port in San Diego on Sept. 19.

When the ship reported to the CDC, 71 of the ship’s 1,874 passengers were reporting norovirus symptoms, including diarrhea and vomiting.

One crew member also fell ill, according to the CDC report.
