A pickup truck driver was killed Tuesday morning when he crossed the center line and collided head-on with a school bus in the north Twin Cities metro.

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office said the crash happened at approximately 7 a.m. near the 175th Avenue Northwest and Roanoke Street Northwest in Andover.

According to the sheriff's office, a man driving a pickup truck hauling a trailer northbound on Roanoke Street crossed the center line and collided with the school bus.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The school bus was carrying five students and was en route to Anoka High School at the time of the crash.
