LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — The City of Las Vegas is set to swear in a new interim representative.

During a special meeting, Councilwoman Kara Kelley will be sworn in for Ward 2.

The seat opened last month after Victoria Seaman announced her departure. Kelley is the former president and CEO of the Las Vegas Chamber and currently serves as the vice chair of the Colorado River Commission. Kelley was selected as the interim councilwoman on Sept. 17.

City leaders will also discuss future priorities following the swearing-in ceremony.

Kelley will hold the seat as the interim councilwoman until the next Councilmember is voted for during either the 2026 Primary or General Elections.
