Piedmont Airlines, a subsidiary of American Airlines Group, will cut 61 jobs at Boston Logan International Airport in November as it ends its ground handling services there.
In a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Act notice to the state on Sept. 19, Piedmont Airlines announced that it would commence furloughs on Nov. 18.
Piedmont operates nearly 400 daily departures from Charlotte, Philadelphia, and Chicago to more than 55 cities throughout the eastern United States. Its headquarters are in Salisbury, Maryland, and it employs more than 11,000 aviation professionals.
Boston’s furloughs affect management, customer service supervisors, customer service agents, and administrative employees.
