It’s been a busy few weeks in the lives of automated speed enforcement cameras in Ontario.

Premier Doug Ford announced he’d make good on his threat to ban the devices , which he characterizes as a cash grab. He’s promised pending legislation will mandate the municipalities that have installed the cameras to stop using them, even musing over the weekend the cameras could be used for other types of surveillance.
