Quinte West OPP are investigating a bomb threat Monday afternoon in Trenton which led to the evacuation of several stores in the city’s east end.
Police reported it happened just after 2 p.m., when employees of a business called police and reported receiving “a threatening phone call” indicating the presence of a bomb.

Officers evacuated the store and neighbouring businesses as a precaution; they also cleared the parking lot of drivers and pedestrians, an OPP news release stated.
Patrol officers and detectives searched the area and found no suspicious items.
Police allowed the stores to re-open shortly before 3 p.m.
