Brockville police are looking for witnesses who may have encountered an Ottawa man allegedly seen in and around a local high school in breach of his probation conditions.

The Brockville Police Service responded to a suspicious person complaint on Monday morning at Thousand Islands Secondary School.

“Police received a report of a suspicious male walking in and around the school. When confronted by staff, the male fled from the area on foot,” police reported Tuesday.

“Police searched the area extensively at the time, but were unable to locate the male.”

Later Monday, with the help of the Smiths Falls Police Service, officers identified the suspect as John Nichol, 38, of Ottawa.
