KIRKWOOD, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Police in Kirkwood are warning of a social media trend.
The “door-kicking” trend involves juveniles running up to homes or apartments and kicking in front doors, sometimes recording it for online content.
According to Kirkwood police, a resident in the 100 block of East Madison reported their door was kicked in. Officers have also received multiple complaints about juveniles creating disturbances at Station Plaza, including in parking garages.
Kirkwood police said that those involved in the “door-kicking” social media trend could face arrest, injury or be confronted with physical force by a homeowner who believes they are defending themselves.
