Kensi Wateland of Devils Lake has been named the North Dakota Association of Lifelong Learning Educator of the year.
She was presented with the award earlier this month.
Kensi Wateland exemplifies the very best qualities of an adult educator: compassionate, committed, and tireless in her mission to help students transform their lives through education.
For over six years, Wateland has led adult education at Region III Adult Learning Center in Devils Lake. With a counseling background, she combines instructional skill with compassion, tailoring lessons for learners preparing for the GED, improving literacy, or building workplace skills.
She uses creative, flexible strategies—integrating technology and hands-on activities—to support students managing work and personal commitments. Watela
