LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - What would you do if you couldn’t use your car for a week?
Living Streets Lexington says that’s the challenge of this Week Without Driving.
“To raise awareness about how many people in communities across the country don’t drive, can’t drive, don’t have access to a car, and they still have to figure out how to get around,” shared Alice Hilton, Living Streets Lexington.
It’s the 2nd year they’ve challenged people who would call themselves ‘car dependent’ to forego their vehicles and push for change.
“It’s meant to help people think about ‘How could this look different?’ and then to talk to their neighbors, their families, their friends, their elected officials about those changes and the future that they imagine and they hope for,” shared Hilton.
