LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Have you ever wondered where Lexington gets their showstopping Christmas tree every year?
Well, it comes from one of you!
“When we get the tree, cut it, and we put it right here on this fountain behind us, that’s my favorite part,” said Patrick Sinclair with Lexington Parks and Recreation.
The City of Lexington is on the hunt for this year’s Christmas tree.
“We’re looking for a 35-45ft tall Blue Spruce or Norway Spruce,” said Sinclair.
Also, one that is full and the perfect shape.
Sinclair said it’s a win-win for someone looking to get rid of a tree in their yard.
“We’ll cut it out and remove it free of charge,” said Sinclair. “We’ll grind the stump and rake it out and we’ll return and seed and straw the area.”
