MEMPHIS, Tenn. - U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi said Tuesday morning that nine arrests were made and two illegal firearms were seized so far in "our operation in Memphis."
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Bondi said the operation was "now underway," adding that "we're just getting started."

She also wrote that 219 officers were "special deputized" and that a Joint Operations Center was established. In an interview with Fox Business, the attorney general said the operation started Monday night.
She also said in the same interview that she and US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth would be going to Memphis this week. "Last night was the first night of our operation, making Memphis safe again," she said.
